Scope

  • Failed surfacing cut back to a straight edge
  • Exposed base cleaned and primed with tack coat
  • Hot mix laid and levelled by hand
  • Compacted with a tandem roller, joint sealed
  • Traffic accommodation and flagman for the duration
A rectangular section of road surfacing cut out and coated with black tack coat.
Prepared road patch with a warning triangle and chevron board set out beyond.
A second prepared patch with a flagman controlling queued traffic.
Fresh asphalt tipped onto the prepared patch and spread with a rake.
A tipper truck discharging asphalt with crew spreading it with shovels.
A tandem roller compacting the newly laid asphalt.
The finished repair — a flush, clean-edged patch with the road open.
